SUMMARY:Cyber Resilience Act Summit
DESCRIPTION:With the  Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)\,  the European Union has established a minimum level of cybersecurity for all connected products. The CRA covers all products sold in the EU that contain “digital elements.” This includes the entire spectrum of embedded systems —from consumer electronics and household appliances to complex high-end industrial systems—if they can be connected to a network or even to another device. \nThe CRA has been in force since the end of 2024\, and implementation must be completed in several steps by the end of 2027 at the latest. Embedded systems developers\, as well as project managers and product managers\, are therefore asking themselves: How do I proceed to ensure that my products meet the CRA requirements? \nAt the Markt&Technik CRA Summit\, top-class speakers will demonstrate which strategies can be used to make embedded systems of varying complexity “CRA-safe.” \nAt the event\, Zephyr Project’s functional safety expert Nicole Pappler will be giving a talk on “Preparing open source projects for the CRA”. \nAbout the talk: With the entry into force of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)\, manufacturers of connected products face new regulatory requirements for cybersecurity across the entire product lifecycle. The Zephyr project\, an open-source real-time operating system (RTOS)\, addresses these requirements through targeted technical and organizational measures. \nThe key elements include: \nAutomated creation of software bills of materials (SBOMs) for transparent component tracking \nLong-term security support (LTS) with regular vulnerability fixes \nIntegration into CVE award processes for structured security communication \nVendor-neutral governance and community-driven development that promotes industrial adoption \nZephyr thus provides a robust open source foundation for the development of secure\, auditable\, and CRA-compliant embedded systems. \nLearn more about the sessions here and register today! \n

SUMMARY:Zephyr Entwickler Forum 2025
DESCRIPTION:The embedded real-time operating system Zephyr  is enjoying increasing popularity\,  and not only because of its broad hardware support  . The free\, open-source RTOS Zephyr  is particularly well-suited for Internet of Things (IoT) applications due to its very low memory requirements and offers a complete embedded development platform. \nNo wonder many embedded system developers are considering using  Zephyr  . They’re asking themselves: \n-Is Zephyr suitable for my project?\n-Is my hardware supported?\n-Are the real-time parameters sufficient for my application?\n-Are there drivers for the required peripherals?\n-What about safety and security requirements? \nThe  Zephyr Developer Forum \, organized and hosted by the electronics trade publication  Elektronik  on October 14\, 2025 in Munich\, aims to answer these questions and provide a platform to  discuss current aspects of Zephyr . \nThe target group  of the event includes software and system developers as well as project managers who are interested in economic aspects such as long-term reduction of development and testing costs or simplified scalability of the final product. \nDevelopers from the Zephyr Project community will also give talks\, making this a must-attend event for anyone exploring Zephyr’s capabilities and long-term benefits. \nLearn more about the event here.

SUMMARY:Open Source Summit: India 2026
DESCRIPTION:Open Source Summit is the premier event for open source developers\, technologists\, and community leaders to collaborate\, share information\, solve problems\, and gain knowledge\, furthering open source innovation and ensuring a sustainable open source ecosystem. It is the gathering place for open-source code and community contributors. \nOpen Source Summit is not a single-focus\, niche event—it’s the big tent that unites the full spectrum of open source technologies and communities. Whether you work in cloud infrastructure\, Linux kernel development\, AI/ML\, embedded systems\, DevOps\, security\, or safety-critical systems\, Open Source Summit offers a shared space to exchange ideas\, make connections\, and learn across domains. It’s where technologists who don’t typically land in the same room get a chance to collaborate. \nAt the same time\, Open Source Summit brings in the leaders and practitioners who support the ecosystem from non-technical angles: open source program office (OSPO) staff\, legal experts\, policy advocates\, standards organizations\, equity champions\, community managers\, and foundation leaders. Together\, they help shape the frameworks\, culture\, and strategy that make open source work. \nThis event serves as a strategic checkpoint for the open source movement. It’s where conversations happen about not only what’s being built—but how and why.
