At this meetup, you will hear presentations on Zephyr RTOS based products, explore interesting subsystems and features, and gain insights into the future of embedded technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your network, engage with experts, and learn from community members who share your passion for Zephyr RTOS.

6:45 PM – 7:15 PM: Zephyr in Education, Johannes Neyer, ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften
The Institute of Embedded Systems at the ZHAW uses Zephyr for several lab exercises. These labs include topics like embedded security, bootloaders, and general operating system concepts. In this talk, we will showcase these labs and discuss the challenge of providing a uniform Zephyr development environment that can be set up quickly and reliably.
7:15 PM – 7:45 PM: Zephyr Behavior Tree, Gerson Fernando Budke, Embedded Software Engineer, Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon
ZephyrBT is a Behavior Tree framework for embedded devices built on the Zephyr Project. A use case from a company will explored using the Groot2 IDE for modeling the Behavior Tree. Details about the Zephyr Behavior Tree will be presented to show that technology is an efficient and modular control flow for real-time systems.

8:00 PM – 8:15 PM: Porting Zephyr to the CH32V003 SGTM, Michael Hope, Staff Software Engineer, Google
The CH32V003 is RISC-V microcontroller that costs $0.10 in 5000-of quantities and, thanks to the efforts of @kholia, it now runs Zephyr. This is a short talk about the porting effort, what’s supported, some of the considerations when you’re tight on RAM or flash, and some potential applications.
8:15 PM – 8:45 PM: Rethinking Embedded Development: Zephyr Through the Eyes of Model-Driven Engineering, Tobias Kästner, Staff Engineer, inovex GmbH
Embedded software development, with its inherent complexities, often presents significant challenges. While numerous solutions exist, a standardized approach remains elusive. The Zephyr Project offers a refreshing perspective. Beyond being a mere RTOS, it’s in fact (at least in parts) a model-driven framework designed to streamline embedded software development with its tight connection to hardware development.
We will delve into three key technologies from Zephyr and explore their connection to model-based development methodologies. By understanding these technologies, you’ll gain insights into how to improve your development process, leading to more efficient and reliable embedded systems.

This innovative system controls up to six irrigation valves, allowing for fully customized and automatic irrigation schedules for separate garden areas. Integrated with the GARDENA smart system, it can be controlled via the GARDENA Smart App, providing a seamless, automated gardening experience.
