The Zephyr Project community is heading to Anaheim, California, for embedded world North America 2026, taking place September 22–24 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California.
Embedded world North America is a leading trade show and conference for innovators and developers across the embedded technology ecosystem. The three-day event will bring together design engineers, systems architects, firmware developers, product leaders, and other embedded professionals to explore the latest technologies and tools shaping embedded innovation.
Attendees can participate in expert-led technical sessions, see demos of new products and solutions, and connect with peers from across the industry. Whether you are looking for solutions to engineering challenges, following developments in embedded systems, or seeking new collaborators and suppliers, the event offers opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, and build connections.
More than 5,000 visitors and 250 exhibitors are expected, with over 60 technical sessions planned during the event.
Zephyr Project at the Embedded World Conference:
A conference program will take place alongside the exhibition, featuring expert-led technical sessions on the latest trends and developments in embedded systems. The Zephyr Project will be part of the program, with talks presented by members of the Zephyr community.
Session Highlights:
- September 23, 11:00-12:30, (lunch), 1:30-3:00 – Workshop: AI-Assisted Zephyr BSP Development: From Zero to Hardware Bring-up in Three Hours, Beningo, Jacob (Beningo Embedded Group)
Developers dig through documentation, reverse-engineer examples, and fight with Devicetree, Kconfig, and build systems just to get hardware running. It’s slow, error-prone, and hard to scale. AI changes that. In this fast-paced, hands-on workshop, you’ll build a custom Zephyr BSP from scratch in just 3 hours by using AI as your development partner. Instead of piecing together fragmented knowledge, you’ll learn how to guide AI to generate board configurations, validate your setup, and accelerate hardware bring-up without losing control of the system.
We’ll start with a quick overview of how Zephyr abstracts hardware and what a BSP actually consists of. Then you’ll immediately apply that knowledge by building your own board support package step-by-step. Along the way, you’ll use AI to assist with Devicetree configuration, board definitions, peripheral setup, and build integration, while learning how to critically evaluate and refine the results.
This is not about replacing the engineer. It’s about amplifying what you can do.
By the end of the workshop, you won’t just understand how Zephyr BSPs work. You’ll have built one yourself and developed a repeatable, AI-assisted workflow that can cut your hardware bring-up time dramatically.
