Ruud Derwig
System Architect at Synopsys
Ruud Derwig has 30+ years of experience with system architectures for embedded systems. Key areas of expertise are hardware and software IPs for security, (real-time) operating systems, embedded processors, and platform software. He holds a master’s degree in computing science and a professional doctorate in engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology. Ruud worked at Philips Research, NXP Semiconductors, and Synopsys. His current role is System & Security Architect at MIPS, a GlobalFoundries company.
Ruud has been participating in and contributing to various Open Source and industry consortia, such as the CE Linux Forum, Linux Foundation (Embedded Linux, Zephyr), RISC-V International, EEMBC/SPEC, and various European innovation projects. He has been active in the Zephyr project since its start as the maintainer for the ARC architecture and is a member of the TSC, Security committee, and Security working group.
