Miniature solid-state circuit breaker.

The Blixt Zero is a miniature solid-state circuit breaker, without any moving parts and no physical separation of the conductive path for power flow. This leads to faster response times and interruption of extreme currents in nanoseconds without generating any arcing. Furthermore, it has built in real-time voltage and current monitoring, as well as software programmability and two-way communication. This makes the system more efficient, and able to combine several device classes (meter, timer, circuit breaker, etc) in one single device, and at the same time providing an increased electrical safety.

It is able to handle 16A nominal, 110 – 230VAC or 320V DC, with a short-circuit interrupting capability of 10kA and can be DIN rail mounted.

The Zephyr RTOS helped us with fast development of the firmware for our solid-state circuit breaker. Due to Zephyr's rich support of MCUs, peripherals, and modern communication stacks, we could focus on the core functionality and significantly reduce development time and increase product quality. Another reason we chose Zephyr was the open license, as we are a strong believer of open source software ourselves and wanted to release the firmware also as open source.
