Iqiyi Smart, a Chinese Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) solutions company, has unveiled a VR headset and controllers that provide customers with an all-in-one gaming, fitness, and 3D movie experience.
Nordic’s nRF52832 Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) System-on-Chip (SoC) powers the head-mounted display of the “Iqiyi Dream VR,” while the nRF52833 general purpose multiprotocol SoC powers the two handheld controllers.
A 64 MHz, 32-bit Arm® Cortex® M4 processor with a floating-point unit (FPU) powers both the nRF52833 SoC and nRF52832 SoC. This processor is built to accommodate the intricate Floating Point (FP) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) computations typical of high-end applications. Software development for the nRF52832 and nRF52833 is recommended to use the nRF Connect SDK [Software Development Kit]. It integrates Zephyr RTOS and supports Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth mesh, and Thread applications.
