We are excited to announce the upcoming Zephyr Project in-person meetup happening on November 5, 2025, in Anaheim, California, co-located with Embedded World North America 2025. This meetup is open to all developers, engineers, and open-source enthusiasts interested in the Zephyr Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and the growing ecosystem around it.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with community members, learn from experts, and see real products running Zephyr in action – all in one place!

Zephyr Project Meetup – November 5, 2025

Join the Zephyr Project community meetup the day after the embedded world conference sessions to continue the conversation, share insights, and network with other developers and contributors.

This in-person gathering will include lightning talks, demos, and technical discussions around the Zephyr Project. Expect to hear updates from community leaders, see new features in action, and learn how organizations are using Zephyr in production environments.

5:00 pm – 5:05 pm: Welcome Note: Prof. Dr-Ing Axel Sikora, Hochschule Offenburg & Chairman, Embedded World Conference

5:05 pm – 5:15 pm: Welcome note & State of Zephyr Project – Kate Stewart, Linux Foundation

Kate Stewart will open the event with a welcome note and share the latest updates on the Zephyr Project. She will talk about what’s new in the project, how the community is growing, and what to expect in the coming months. This session gives a clear overview of where Zephyr stands today and where it’s headed next.

5:20 pm – 5:35 pm: Zephyr on Renesas MCU/MPU offerings – Luca Bartolomeo, VP of Business Development, Renesas

Renesas is a Platinum member of the Zephyr project with support for RA, RX MCU and RZ MPU family devices and boards. Renesas Zephyr offering supplies comprehensive, lightweight, kernel & supporting services, inherently portable & secure while being complete, fully integrated, highly configurable, modular for flexibility.

5:40 pm – 5:55 pm: Enhancing Bluetooth Audio in Zephyr: Bringing Bluetooth Classic to the party – Brendon, Director, MCU/MPU Enablement, NXP

An overview of the latest additions and challenges in adding Bluetooth Classic audio support to Zephyr. This session will cover progress to date, explore initiatives to accelerate Bluetooth Classic audio development, and share plans for an A2DP application for end-to-end audio. Expanding CI/CV coverage for compliance and other aspects of solution robustness will also be discussed. Learn how NXP is contributing to a more robust and feature-rich Bluetooth stack in Zephyr and how you can get involved.

6:00 pm – 6:15 pm: How contributing to Zephyr and OSS makes sense for IoT development teams – Luis Ubieda, Lead Firmware Engineer, Croxel

When developing IoT products, actively getting involved in the OSS community can bring significant advantages on the products shipped, far outweighing the downsides. We will explain the rationale behind our involvement and tell our story to encourage others to do the same.

6:20 – 6:35: How to Build Stunning Embedded UIs with Zephyr, Cédric LE DILLAU, Solutions Engineering Manager, Qt Group, EMEA

Explore the integration of Qt for MCUs with the Zephyr RTOS, showcasing how to build a connected product from a constrained embedded environment. This session demonstrates the addition of a graphical user interface (GUI) on top of MQTT, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Finally, it highlights the use of Squish automated testing to ensure reproducible and reliable validation of embedded graphical interfaces.

6:40 pm – 6:55 pm: Zephyr AI development made easier: Zephelin Profiling Library, Trace Viewer and AutoML – Michael Gielda, VP Business Development, Antmicro

Antmicro and Analog Devices have been collaborating to make Zephyr AI development easier. Learn about three new open source Zephyr tools for development of AI at the edge: an AutoML flow using Antmicro’s Kenning AI benchmarking and deployment framework which you can use to automate the search for optimal AI models for specific tasks and specific Zephyr platforms; the Zephelin Profiling Library, a library which lets you track the execution of AI applications in Zephyr and monitor system state; and the Zephelin Trace Viewer collecting and visualizing AI trace data for interactive, detailed analysis.
